Referrers
Ripon House normally caters for women aged 18+ who are on bail, subject to Probation supervision or a statutory post-custody licence. With Assistant Chief Officer approval, 16 and 17 year olds may be accepted.
Objectives:
Ripon House Approved Premises provides an intensive, structured and supervised regime. Residents work with staff via an individual supervision plan aimed at achieving a crime free lifestyle.
Ripon House Approved Premise offer residents:
The chance to change their behaviour and attitudes
The chance to prove to the Courts and the community their willingness and ability to lead responsible, law abiding lives.
The regime:
At least two members of staff are on duty day and night
Normal curfew hours 11pm – 6am
Residents must abide by conditions imposed on them and comply with Approved Premises rules
All residents have a link worker
All residents follow programmes that meet their needs and challenge their offending behaviour, e.g. problem solving or basic skills
Referral
Community Order referrals are made by the Offender Manager in their home area.
For bail referrals on the day of a court appearance, court staff should phone Ripon House in the first instance. For Bail Assessment, the Court is asked to adjourn the case for 28 days. During this period staff assess committment and motivation and provide a report for the Court.
